Mallorca looks sort of like Capri in this photo and though, Mallorca does have waters every bit as blue, Capri it is not. No designer shops at each turn here, Mallorca is wild, rugged and spread out.
After flying into the main town of Palma, I landed in the interior town of Inca for lunch.
CELLER CAN AMER is, as the name suggests, a former wine cellar. It’s half underground which keeps it nice and cool - a much needed respite from the hot Mallorcian sun.
The suckling pig was cooked just right- crispy on the outside, tender and succulent on the inside.
You just never know who you might encounter on the curvy interior roads!
Do not miss BENS D’AVALL on the road between Soller and Deia. The food is as stunning as the view. Reserve ahead.
You can work off your lunch by hiking down to the water’s edge!
In Palma:
Although it’s tricky to find up some stairs near the Plaza Mayor, BAR ESPAÑA is my favorite. It’s a local crowd, something not easy to find on a tourist island!
